Privacy provisions regarding this website have been developed from guidelines issued by the Commonwealth Government, Office of the Privacy Commissioner - National Privacy Principles.

Information Collection

This site is entirely for public and educational benefit and as such, minimal user information is required or sought. The exception to this position is; information gathering for for the future evaluation of site effectiveness including identifying the broad user profile and main reasons for access. Note that cookies or other tracking devices will not be used for this purpose however the following tools may be.

• Recording of email contacts with attention to organisations and not to individuals. Email addresses will not be added to mailing lists etc without permission.
  
• Recording of download topics and/or use of particular links.
• Recording of site hits only where this identifies organisations and not individuals.

Use and Disclosure

No direct or indirect user information will be passed on to a second party nor will it be used for any commercial purpose.

Should future considerations make it necessary to alter the preceding statement, notice of the policy change will be placed on the site and no information gathered prior to that notice will be utilised.

Information Quality and Security

Every effort will be made to ensure that site content reflects best practice standards and that it is free from virus or other contaminants. SARHN cannot however accept liability should such contamination occur. Users must therefore access the site only when in accordance with the security protocols of their particular organisations or, in the case of home computers, where adequate virus scanning software has been installed and regularly updated.

Where the user clicks on a link and leaves the SARHN website, they are no longer protected by the privacy and other provisions described herein.

User Proposed Links, Publications and Resources

Via the 'contact' button on the home page, any user may propose the inclusion of further links, publications or other resources. SARHN reserves the right however to accept or reject such proposals without explanation.
